Punj Lloyd PSA & WISPA Masters 2010

The Punj Lloyd PSA & WISPA Masters, 2010 were the world’s second largest event for professional players and India’s largest ever squash event. The tournament featured top ranked players in the world. Men’s section included Nick Matthew and James Willstrop from England, Amr Shabana from Egypt together with India’s Saurav Ghosal, and Harinder Pal Sandhu.

While all the matches were webcast live on squashtv.com, the semifinals and the finals were telecast live in India on NDTV Profit with Sportzworkz producing the event from 14th to 19th December at the Siri fort Complex in New Delhi.

Saurav Ghoshal won his first round match but lost to 4 time world champion Amr Shabana in the 2nd round to bow out of the tournament. The event also turned out to be a disappointing for other Indians as Harinder Pal Sandhu, Sandeep Jangra and Sidharth Suchde all got knocked out in the first round itself.

The PSA Final was a repeat of the Commonwealth Games 2010 finals, as Nick Matthews beat James Willstrop to win the title.  In the Punj Lloyd WISPA Masters, Indian sensation Deepika Pallikal lost in the quarter finals but she along with Saurav Ghoshal were awarded a special prize for their contribution to Indian squash

Top seed Jenny Duncalf of England beat the second seed Australia's Kasey Brown to win the Punj Lloyd WISPA Masters squash title.
